The µBIOME Lab of Prof. Jérôme Comte at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique - Eau Terre Environnement (INRS-ETE) is interested in understanding microbial diversity and functioning in a changing climate. To do so, we employ culturing, molecular, and multiomics approaches.
Our research focuses on understanding the response of microbial communities to environmental changes. Combining approaches and concepts from ecology and evolution, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and biogeochemistry, we investigate the functional and taxonomic diversity of microorganisms and their links with ecosystem processes and services across a wide variety of ecosystem types (from aquifers in temperate regions to high-Arctic lakes) and perturbations (from lakes eutrophication to permafrost thawing).
